Policy and Project Lead | VPS5 Equivalent

Docklands, Melbourne | $80 + Super per hour | 6-Month Contract

We’re partnering with a leading public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Policy and Project Lead to support a high-performing Strategy division during a key period of transformation within an environmental regulatory context.

This is a senior-level opportunity suited to a strong business management or policy professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys working closely with executive leadership.

The Role

Reporting into a senior executive, you’ll lead a small team and play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the division. You’ll drive planning, reporting, governance, and provide high-level advice while supporting strategic initiatives and organisational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team delivering business, admin, and project support
  • Drive divisional planning, reporting, and performance outcomes
  • Provide high-level advice and support to senior executives
  • Oversee governance, briefing processes, and compliance activities
  • Manage change initiatives and foster a positive team culture
  • Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior business support, policy, or management role
  • Strong leadership capability with experience managing teams through change
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes
  • Background in government or highly regulated environments is highly regarded
  • Full Australian working rights
