Unified Communications Engineer

If you’re a UC / Voice Engineer who knows Microsoft Teams Calling, Cisco UC or SIP environments and wants more ownership of your solutions, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Our client is a leading South Australian ICT managed services provider and Telstra Platinum Partner, supporting government and enterprise customers across Australia.

With 50+ staff and continued growth, they’re looking for an experienced Unified Communications Engineer to join their Adelaide team and take a key role in designing and delivering modern voice and collaboration solutions.

What’s in it for you?

This isn’t purely a BAU support role.

You’ll get exposure across the full solution lifecycle – from solution design and pre-sales through to implementation, migration and complex troubleshooting – working with a mix of established enterprise technology and modern cloud-based UC platforms.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership of technically interesting UC projects
  • Work across Microsoft Teams Calling, Cisco Webex Calling, SIP and SBC technologies
  • Deliver solutions for enterprise and government environments
  • Work closely with experienced engineers, architects and pre-sales specialists
  • Build deeper capability across cloud voice, networking and contact centre technologies
  • Join an established Adelaide technology business that is continuing to grow

What you’ll be doing

You’ll design, deploy and support UC and telephony solutions, including:

  • Microsoft Teams Calling, including Direct Routing and Operator Connect
  • Cisco Webex Calling and broader Cisco UC environments
  • SIP trunking, SBCs, dial plans and call routing
  • Telstra carriage and third-party integrations
  • Cloud voice migrations from legacy PBX environments
  • L2/L3 troubleshooting across voice and call-quality issues
  • Technical designs, low-level designs and as-built documentation

You’ll also work alongside the pre-sales team, contributing technical expertise to solution design, customer conversations and presentations.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have 4+ years of experience in UC, voice or collaboration engineering within an MSP, telco or enterprise environment.

Strong experience in Microsoft Teams Calling and/or Cisco UC will be highly regarded, along with:

  • SIP, RTP, QoS and codecs
  • SBCs such as AudioCodes or Ribbon
  • Voice-related networking including VLANs, QoS and firewall traversal
  • Troubleshooting complex voice and call-quality issues
  • Strong customer-facing and communication skills

Experience with Genesys, Five9, Telstra TIPT or Telstra carriage services would be a bonus, as would Microsoft Teams Voice or Cisco Collaboration certifications.

Australian Citizenship is preferred due to the nature of some government customer engagements.
