Traffic Officer
Talent International is currently recruiting for a Traffic Officer to work for the Local Government, based in Sydney. The position is a 2-month contract and pays $65 per hour + Super.
7.5 hours a day / 37.5 hours a week
Please note this role is to cover holiday leave, hence the duration.
The Traffic Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles within the City’s road network.
Key responsibilities will typically include the following:
- Traffic Management: Assessing and implementing strategies to improve traffic flow, manage parking, and enhance road safety in compliance with legislative requirements.
- Data Analysis: Collecting and analysing traffic data to identify issues and enable the development of effective solutions to traffic, parking, and safety concerns.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Provide clear and timely information and professional advice to internal and external stakeholders (i.e. business owners, residents) to support informed decision-making
- Local Traffic Committee Support: Contribute to the City’s Local Pedestrian, Cycling and Traffic Calming Committee by providing reports and technical support to facilitate effective decision-making.
To be successful in this role, candidates will need:
- Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
- Experience: Relevant experience in traffic engineering, including the ability to resolve complex traffic and transport-related problems and negotiate viable solutions with stakeholders.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills for data interpretation, excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement, and proficiency in project management.
- Licenses: A current Class C Driver’s License.
