Test Manager
Are you an experienced Test Manager with a strong background in Data & Analytics, Azure, and Enterprise Data Platforms? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead testing strategy, planning, and execution for a large-scale data modernisation initiative.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a modern cloud-based data platform while working alongside data analysts, data engineers, business stakeholders, and project teams.
About the Role
As the Test Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and driving the end-to-end testing function across a complex enterprise data environment. You will define testing strategies, develop test plans, coordinate testing activities, and ensure high-quality delivery of data products and reporting solutions.
Working within an Agile delivery environment, you will collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements, performance standards, and security expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall testing strategy and test framework.
- Create comprehensive test plans and test cases aligned to project objectives.
- Lead system integration, functional, regression, performance, security, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Validate data quality, reporting outputs, and business intelligence solutions.
- Work closely with Data Analysts, Data Modellers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective test scenarios.
- Manage defect identification, tracking, and resolution processes.
- Ensure testing artefacts and results are maintained for governance and audit purposes.
- Support release management and production verification activities.
- Contribute to Agile planning sessions and provide proactive risk management and status reporting.
About You
You will bring proven experience leading testing activities within enterprise data and analytics environments, along with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Essential Experience
- Testing enterprise data warehouse and analytics solutions.
- Azure-based data platforms, including Azure Synapse and Data Lake environments.
- SQL scripting and data validation.
- API testing and data integration validation.
- Power BI or similar reporting and analytics platforms.
- User security and access testing.
- Experience developing and implementing testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and modern data architecture.
Highly Regarded
- Python or similar scripting experience.
- Experience in Business Intelligence testing leadership roles.
- ISTQB or related testing certifications.
- Azure or cloud certifications.
- Agile project delivery experience.
