The Opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity for a EL1 Test Lead to join the team.

Initial approval for 12 months from initial employment, with the potential to extend, paying a daily rate of $602.55 + Superannuation.

Requirements:

  • Leading testing of PACE including: planning, preparing and delivering user acceptance testing (UAT) and business verification testing (BVT) for product releases
  • Undertaking quality management and testing assurance activities through the preparation and review of test strategies, plans, accessible test scripts in Easy English, coverage matrices and sign off reports.
  • Managing and supporting Participants and their representatives; and registered providers to undertake UAT and BVT.
  • Working with IT team to ensure environment and test cases are available for testing.
  • Managing and tracking all testing activities and escalating defects.
  • Estimating effort and time requirements for testing activities.
  • Managing the resources of testers to support the various testing phases as required

Key skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team
  • Proven experience in leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of test automation frameworks, particularly using Playwright for browser-based automation.
  • Strong understanding of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD)
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and evolve automation solutions that integrate with CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitLab
  • Hands-on experience with version control, branching strategies, and code reviews in Git-based environments.
  • Strong understanding of test data management, environment configuration, and test execution orchestration in automated pipelines.
  • Proven ability to oversee the development and execution of test plans, test scenarios, and sign-off reports
  • Strong leadership in managing end-to-end testing activities
  • Experience in resource planning, task allocation, and performance oversight
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • You must be able to provide evidence of Australian Citizenship if successful for this position
