Technical Writer

Our government client is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join a digital transformation project delivering a new multi-platform business-critical system.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in bridging the gap between technical delivery teams and business users. You’ll work closely with developers, analysts, project teams and stakeholders to translate complex technical information into clear, practical documentation that supports system implementation, adoption and ongoing operations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop high-quality technical documentation including user guides, knowledge base articles, technical procedures, system administration guides and operational documentation.

  • Translate technical designs, process maps and system requirements into user-friendly content for non-technical / ICT audiences.

  • Partner with developers, business analysts, data specialists and project stakeholders to gather, validate and document information.

  • Establish and maintain documentation standards, templates and version control to ensure consistency across project deliverables.

  • Support the rollout of a new enterprise platform by producing documentation that enables successful user adoption and transition into business-as-usual.

About you

You’ll be an experienced Technical Writer who is comfortable working in complex ICT environments and enjoys turning technical detail into documentation that people can actually understand and use.

You’ll bring:

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Technical Writer supporting enterprise ICT or digital transformation projects.

  • Experience documenting complex applications, systems or multi-platform environments.

  • The ability to engage confidently with technical teams while producing documentation for business users and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong writing, editing and document management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience creating user guides, knowledge articles, technical procedures, system documentation and operational manuals.

  • The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced project environment.

What’s on offer

  • Initial 6-month contract with possibility of extension.

  • Hybrid working arrangement with 3-4 days per week in the Adelaide CBD office.

  • Opportunity to contribute to a significant digital transformation initiative.

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary project team with a high level of autonomy and responsibility.
