Technical Officer

Our client:

Our client is a large, government-backed organisation delivering a major Defence modernisation program. They are focused on building secure, integrated ICT systems that support critical operations.

The role:

This is a hands-on Technical Support role working across mission-critical ICT systems in a highly secure environment. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving complex infrastructure, ensuring systems remain operational in both standard and constrained conditions.

Key responsibilities:

Provide advanced support for mission-critical IT systems
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Maintain and upgrade systems in line with security protocols
Support messaging infrastructure across distributed environments
Manage user access and system configurations
Develop SOPs, build guides and technical documentation
Implement contingency solutions in constrained (DDIL) environments
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors
Support deployments, hardware builds and training activities
Participate in on-call rotation for high priority incidents

Skills and experience:

Strong experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory and Skype
Experience with Citrix, virtualisation and infrastructure support
Ability to troubleshoot complex enterprise environments
Experience in secure or highly regulated environments
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience with VoIP, XMPP or legacy systems (e.g. Lotus Domino) beneficial
Exposure to Cisco, Fortinet or similar networking tools advantageous

Benefits and additional information:

Up to $850 per day incl. super
Contract to 30 June + 12-month extension
Canberra or Sydney location
Standard business hours + on-call rotation
Work on a high-profile Defence program
NV2 clearance required (NV1/Baseline considered)
