About the role
The Field Service Technician will play a key role in delivering installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical support services across customer sites.
This is a hands-on position focused on equipment reliability, customer support and fault-finding across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems. You will work closely with the Service Team, Technical Manager and Project Manager to coordinate service activity and escalate complex technical issues.
Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service and troubleshoot machinery and automation systems
- Complete electrical service tasks, including low-voltage 24VDC wiring
- Undertake scheduled maintenance and breakdown servicing across customer sites
- Diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems
- Work with coders, vision systems, conveyors, sensors, controllers and automation components
- Provide customers with technical support, equipment training and practical advice
- Prepare accurate service reports and maintain documentation in line with OHSE requirements
- Coordinate scheduling and technical escalations with internal service and project teams
- Assist with equipment preparation and pre-delivery setup in the workshop
- Support occasional fabrication, equipment installation and alignment activities

Requirements
- Electrical Trade Licence, either A-Grade or Restricted; or
- Recognised qualification in Mechatronics, including Certificate IV, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
- Experience within machinery, automation, packaging, manufacturing or industrial field service
- Strong electrical, mechanical and pneumatic fault-finding abilities
- Experience with sensors, encoders, controllers, VFDs and industrial low-voltage systems
- Understanding of PLC or mini-PLC wiring
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Professional approach when working independently at customer sites
