Technical Business Analysts

Our client is a federal government organisation with offices throughout Australia. Due to growth, they are seeking several multiple Technical Business Analysts to join their team either Richmond or Geelong.

• 12-month initial contract plus 12-month extension, excellent rates negotiable
• Hybrid with 3 days per week onsite
• Federal government role – Australian citizenship required

Key duties and responsibilities

• Work closely with program, business and technical stakeholders to effectively discover, define, validate, prioritise and continuously manage requirements that translate identified needs into outcomes which align with NDIS’s architectural principles and strategies.
• Examine and organise requirements to record dependencies, relationships and identify logical sequences.
• Synthesise business and technical requirements/concepts and present them in simple terms.
• Draft business analyst artefacts and documents that may include risk analysis, scope modelling, business process modelling, data discovery and analysis, problem tracking and sequence diagrams.
• Provide support on stakeholder analysis, assisting the team to engage with stakeholders to effectively understand cross-business functions.
• Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications and design documents and participate in project reviews, ensuring designed solutions meet business requirements.
• Assist the project manager and the team to translate requirements into project deliverables and tasks.
• Assist team members to effectively document the systems and solutions that the team develops, delivers and maintains.
• Work with an outcome focus, with an ability to effectively challenge the business while retaining a customer focus.
• Work effectively with dynamic technical teams, business stakeholders and 3rd party providers.
• As a senior member of the team, possess the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Have the ability to respond to and prioritise competing and often urgent requests in a calm and efficient manner while also maintaining high work standards.
• Manage confidential and sensitive information.
• Foster a positive culture within the team aligned with Agency values.

To apply for this opportunity, you will need the Selection Criteria below:

• Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years, working in a similar role performing business analysis activities including workshop facilitation, supporting the successful delivery of high-impact and high-value initiatives that lead to meaningful change.
• Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating with technical SME’s to define and obtain an understanding of business needs, technical constraints, and technical concepts and present them in simple terms.
• Demonstrated experience in effectively managing multiple business stakeholders and establishing effective working relationships with stakeholders.
• Proven experience, of at least 2 years, in a role relating to cloud platforms (preferably Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) including delivery of new services.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively liaise and keep stakeholders informed and engaged, both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, cultivating productive working relationships across multiple projects and business areas.
• Experience working in Government or providing services to Government agency.
