Position Overview:

We are seeking a System Integration Tester with strong domain experience in the energy sector, particularly in billing systems. The ideal candidate will be an independent and self-managed professional who can take ownership of the testing process across multiple integrations, identify risks, and communicate clearly with stakeholders.

You will play a key role in validating end-to-end system integration involving Gentrack Velocity and must be capable of producing meaningful test artefacts and presenting findings in workshops and stakeholder forums.

Key Responsibility:

  • Design, develop, and execute system integration test cases across billing systems and related applications (with a focus on Gentrack Velocity).
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and project stakeholders to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Validate data flows, batch jobs, and interface messages between upstream and downstream systems.
  • Manage test activities using JIRA and maintain documentation and evidence in SharePoint.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive test reports, highlighting issues, coverage, risks, and recommendations.
  • Conduct defect triage and participate in release readiness reviews and quality gate assessments.
  • Present testing outcomes and defects in stakeholder workshops and forums in a clear and structured manner.
  • Work independently to manage test planning, execution, reporting, and follow-ups without the need for close supervision.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve integration testing processes and suggest quality improvements.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in system integration testing, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Hands-on experience testing billing systems, especially Gentrack Velocity (highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of integration patterns, APIs, batch processing, and middleware tools.
  • Proven experience using JIRA for test management and defect tracking.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint for documentation and collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience in Agile or hybrid project environments.
  • ISTQB Certification or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
  • Exposure to data validation techniques and SQL scripting.
  • Experience in performance or regression testing would be an advantage.
