
System Accountant
The System Accountant provides leadership and strategic oversight across financial accounting and reporting functions. This role ensures compliance with legislative and policy frameworks, drives process improvement, and supports high-quality financial governance within the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the financial accounting team and oversee statutory financial reporting
- Ensure accurate and compliant financial transactions and records
- Drive process and system improvements using innovation and best practices
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and stakeholders
- Oversee asset accounting and insurance coverage management
- Maintain compliance with all legislative, policy, and audit requirements
- Support the preparation and resolution of audit findings and financial statements
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- CPA or CA qualification (desirable)
- Proven leadership experience in financial accounting and reporting
- Strong understanding of public sector financial frameworks and standards
