Solutions Engineer

Position Overview

An opportunity exists for experienced Solutions Engineers to support the delivery and continuous improvement of complex ICT solutions within a highly regulated government environment. This role is suited to hands-on engineering professionals who can contribute across solution design, engineering assurance, architecture development, and stakeholder engagement.

Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and capability teams, you will help shape and deliver secure, scalable, and modern technology solutions aligned to enterprise architecture frameworks and operational requirements. The position requires strong technical capability, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Duties

• Design, develop, review, and support ICT solution architectures across enterprise and operational environments
• Contribute to engineering assurance activities, including presenting solution options, briefs, and technical recommendations
• Ensure technology solutions align with strategic architecture blueprints and roadmap objectives
• Produce architecture artefacts and technical documentation to support solution delivery and governance
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, strategy, and project delivery teams to achieve program outcomes
• Support modernisation and migration initiatives, including cloud and multi-cloud environments
• Apply industry best practice across solution design, cyber security, and integration approaches
• Engage with stakeholders to facilitate workshops, meetings, and technical discussions

Skills and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering complex ICT solutions within enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, DODAF, or NAF
• Experience working with cloud technologies including Azure, AWS, SaaS, and PaaS solutions
• Knowledge of cyber security, identity management, and secure solution design principles
• Experience integrating cloud applications and modernising legacy systems
• Strong understanding of networking technologies and cross-domain integrations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
• Ability to facilitate workshops, technical discussions, and solution reviews effectively
• Experience operating within a Defence Environment is highly advantageous
