We are seeking an experienced Security Solution Architect to lead the secure design and delivery of enterprise and aviation-critical infrastructure platforms. The role provides architectural oversight across Windows, VDI, and AWS virtual desktop technologies, ensuring solutions meet stringent security, compliance, and performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of secure, resilient infrastructure solutions supporting enterprise and aviation-critical systems.

  • Provide architectural oversight across Windows Server, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, AWS AppStream/WorkSpaces, and associated file, network, identity, and access management platforms.

  • Embed security-by-design principles into all solution architectures, ensuring alignment with aviation, government, and enterprise security standards.

  • Ensure solutions meet stringent security, compliance, availability, and performance requirements expected in safety-critical aviation environments.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including cyber security and risk functions, to identify architectural risks, diagnose bottlenecks, and define remediation strategies.

  • Support the delivery of Technology Wellness, security uplift, and risk remediation initiatives within the project backlog.

  • Maintain architectural governance, ensuring security controls, patterns, and guardrails are consistently applied across the enterprise landscape.

  • Provide continuity of architectural and security expertise following the departure of a key architect, ensuring uninterrupted progress across active initiatives.

Required Capabilities

  • Strong expertise in Windows Server and AWS technologies within secure, enterprise environments.

  • Deep experience with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure solutions (Citrix, VMware Horizon, or similar), including secure access, segmentation, and identity integration.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS AppStream and WorkSpaces, including secure configuration and access controls.

  • Solid understanding of file, network, and identity architecture, including Active Directory, IAM, and authentication/authorisation models.

  • Proven experience delivering solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards, security frameworks, and compliance obligations.

  • Strong ability to communicate security and architectural concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
