We are partnering with a major Government organisation delivering a large-scale Critical Network Program and are seeking an experienced Solution Architect – Unified Communications & Telephony to lead the design and modernisation of enterprise voice platforms.
This is a strategic architecture role focused on transforming legacy Cisco UC environments into secure, scalable, cloud-based UCaaS/CCaaS solutions supporting mission-critical and emergency communication services.
🔎 The Opportunity
You will take ownership of the end-to-end voice architecture within a complex Government environment, defining the future-state strategy and guiding migration from on-prem Cisco UC platforms to modern cloud collaboration solutions.
This role combines deep technical expertise, architectural governance, and senior stakeholder engagement.
🏗 Key Responsibilities

Define and lead the enterprise voice & unified communications architecture roadmap

Architect migration from Cisco UC (CUCM, Unity, UCCX, Expressway, etc.) to UCaaS/CCaaS platforms (e.g. Webex Calling/Contact Centre or equivalent)

Design secure, resilient SIP trunking and emergency telephony solutions

Develop HLDs, LLDs, and architecture artefacts

Act as Design Authority for telephony solutions

Oversee decommissioning of legacy platforms

Provide technical leadership across build, migration, and operational transition

Ensure solutions align with Government security, compliance, and resilience standards
✅ What We’re Looking For

Extensive experience architecting enterprise unified communications solutions

Deep expertise across Cisco UC stack

Strong understanding of SIP, VoIP, telephony architecture & QoS
-
Proven experience delivering telephony/cloud migration programs

Experience working within Government or highly regulated environments

Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor management capability
Desirable: CCNP/CCIE Collaboration or equivalent

Ability to obtain/hold Baseline National Security Clearance
