Solution Architect

Auckland CBD | Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH)

Talent’s client is looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help shape the future of a large-scale customer engagement platform used by hundreds of millions of consumers worldwide. This is a strategic role that sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, and Architecture, influencing how complex technology decisions are made while helping teams deliver scalable, customer-focused solutions.

You’ll work across domains including loyalty, rewards, messaging, personalisation, identity, consent, and consumer profiling, partnering closely with senior Product and Engineering leaders to solve meaningful business challenges and guide platform evolution.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to shape technology strategy and roadmap decisions.
• Lead architectural thinking from problem discovery through to solution delivery.
• Provide guidance and oversight across cloud-native, distributed systems and integration solutions.
• Identify risks, trade-offs, and opportunities early in the development lifecycle.
• Define architectural guardrails, standards, and best practices.
• Influence senior stakeholders and challenge thinking constructively to drive better outcomes.
• Help shape approaches to AI-assisted engineering and architecture practices as the business continues to evolve.
• Collaborate closely with Architecture, Security, Cloud, and Engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and fit for purpose.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years’ experience as a Solution Architect, Platform Architect, or Software Architect.
• Strong background designing web-based backend and integration solutions.
• Experience designing cloud-native, distributed systems in modern cloud environments.
• Previous software engineering or development experience with the ability to engage credibly with technical teams.
• Proven experience partnering with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A pragmatic approach to architecture, balancing long-term vision with business realities.

Nice to Have

• Experience within SaaS or platform-based organisations.
• Exposure to domains such as loyalty, rewards, personalisation, messaging, identity, consent, or customer data platforms.
• Experience with Azure/.NET environments (although other cloud and technology backgrounds are welcomed).
• Experience improving architecture practices, governance, or operating models.
• Exposure to AI-assisted software development and engineering practices.
