About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join a high-profile government program focused on modernising directory and identity systems to improve digital services for the community and local businesses. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of directory, identity, and tenant architecture, working across both Microsoft cloud and private cloud environments. You’ll be responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable, and innovative solutions while collaborating closely with technical teams and stakeholders to drive digital transformation across complex enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities

Design and implement directory, identity, and tenant solutions, ensuring compliance with government frameworks and program objectives

Provide expert-level advice on Active Directory (AD), Entra ID (Azure AD), and integration with enterprise applications

Lead tenant migration, merger, and separation projects, including managing complex application dependencies

Solve technical challenges across on-premises (VMware) and Azure cloud environments

Develop solution designs, architectural diagrams, and technical documentation to a professional standard

Partner with key stakeholders to support smooth service delivery and drive successful organisational transitions
About You
You are a strategic and proactive architect with extensive experience in enterprise-scale directory and identity projects. You thrive in complex environments and are confident leading transformation initiatives from design through to delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience:

7+ years’ experience in AD and Identity Architecture

Expertise with forests, domains, trusts, replication, GPO design, DNS, PKI, ADFS, and Entra Connect

Strong knowledge of tenant merger/separation projects and application dependency management

Ability to design current, interim, and target state architectures with clear roadmaps

Microsoft certifications such as Solutions Architect Expert or Identity & Access Administrator (highly desirable)
