    Position Overview
    We are seeking experienced Software Engineers to contribute to the delivery of modern, secure, and scalable digital solutions within a fast-paced government environment. This role plays a key part in supporting critical ICT initiatives, working within collaborative, multidisciplinary teams to design, build and maintain high-quality applications. You will contribute to the development of cloud-native services and user-facing applications that support important public services, while promoting best practice in software engineering, security, and continuous improvement.

    Key Duties

    • Develop and maintain secure backend services using modern .NET technologies and REST APIs
    • Deliver responsive and accessible front-end applications using React
    • Integrate internal and third-party systems, including messaging, identity, and CRM platforms
    • Apply secure coding practices and manage secrets using appropriate tools
    • Write and maintain automated tests across unit, integration, and UI layers
    • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality assurance standards
    • Participate in code reviews and uphold development best practices
    • Implement solutions aligned with architecture, security, and performance standards
    • Produce technical documentation, release notes, and operational support materials
    • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • Collaborate within Agile delivery teams across product, UX, security, and operations

    Skills and Experience Required

    • Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or equivalent practical experience
    • Strong expertise in modern .NET frameworks, ASP.NET Web APIs, and REST API design
    • Proven experience with React and front-end development best practices
    • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure services (App Services, Functions, Service Bus, API Management, Azure SQL)
    • Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
    • Knowledge of API governance, performance optimisation, and security patterns
    • Experience with automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices
    • Familiarity with secure development practices and relevant government security standards
