Software Engineer Lead - Platform Focused

We’re looking for a proven Software Development/Platform Lead to guide and inspire a team of engineers, uplift delivery practices, and drive platform efficiency. This role is about leadership and impact – setting the direction for a talented team while ensuring robust, scalable systems that the business can rely on.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of software engineers – building capability and culture.
  • Uplifting team performance and championing process improvements across the SDLC.
  • Driving platform optimisation: scalability, efficiency, and security.
  • Partnering with architects, product, and infrastructure teams to shape the roadmap and delivery approach.
  • Making confident technical decisions in .NET / C#, ensuring solutions are sound and future-proof.
  • Acting as a trusted voice in the business, engaging stakeholders and managing vendors to extend capability when needed.

About you:

  • Proven experience leading software development teams (people leadership, not just project leadership).
  • Strong technical background in .NET / C# (Blazor exposure a plus).
  • Track record of lifting team performance and embedding delivery improvements.
  • Confident navigating enterprise environments, ideally with exposure to financial services.
  • Skilled across the full SDLC, comfortable working in Agile delivery models.
  • Influential communicator who can align diverse stakeholders and inspire your team.
  • Bonus: cloud (Azure), DevOps/automation, or AI/ML initiatives.
