• Security Clearance: NV1 (Mandatory)
• Contract Length: Until 26^th July, 2027 + 12 months extension (Based on the Department’s discretion)

About the Position:

Some security roles are focused on guarding access points. This role is focused on protecting government facilities throughout the construction lifecycle.

Working within security-sensitive construction environments, you will provide on-site security observation, monitoring and assurance activities that support the protection of people, information and physical assets. The work sits at the intersection of security, construction and operational compliance.

You will form part of a dedicated construction security team responsible for ensuring approved security controls are applied throughout active construction projects. The role requires strong situational awareness, attention to detail and the ability to operate effectively within structured security environments.

This is a hands-on operational role where observation, judgement and disciplined reporting are critical. You will be monitoring activities, inspecting materials and equipment, supporting compliance requirements and escalating security concerns when required.

The environment can be physically demanding and requires individuals who are comfortable working on active construction sites, operating outdoors and maintaining focus over extended periods.

What You’ll Do:

• Observe personnel movements and construction activities within designated security zones and controlled work areas.
• Monitor compliance with approved construction security requirements and escalate security concerns when identified.
• Inspect materials, tools and equipment entering site and support verification and assurance activities.
• Maintain accurate records, security logs and reporting to support auditability and operational outcomes.

What We Are Looking For:

• Experience within security, construction or other controlled operational environments.
• Ability to work effectively within a disciplined, multi-person team operating in security-sensitive settings.
• Strong observation, reporting and situational awareness skills.
• Ability to work independently, follow established procedures and exercise sound judgement when responding to security issues.

A Quick Note Before You Apply:

This role is unlikely to suit candidates seeking traditional office-based security work, remote work arrangements or static guarding positions.

The work is performed entirely on-site and may involve extended periods of standing, movement across construction sites, exposure to varying weather conditions and deployment requirements aligned to project demand.

A Construction White Card, relevant site safety certifications and the ability to obtain and maintain the required clearances will be important for success.
