The Site ICT Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of an engagement framework to gather and manage business requirements and objectives across the department’s sites. This role contributes strategic expertise to ICT systems, policies, and service planning to maintain efficient business performance and meet current and future ICT needs. The role manages ICT operations, providing support to the school, and ensures services and knowledge are available to deliver the curriculum and improve student outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support ICT requirements, initiate ICT infrastructure projects, and manage customer ICT projects. Provide expert advice on ICT options and risks to site leaders and ensure efficient school processes.
- Lead, manage and motivate a high performing team skilled in delivering desktop and learning technology support solutions to a large Secondary School, in accordance with the ICT service delivery framework and processes, and in compliance with department and Government policy.
- Plan, coordinate and manage ICT infrastructure, systems and specialist technology related projects, audits, reviews and research including providing recommendations, solutions and clear, concise reporting.
- Lead, develop and maintain customer engagement strategies, contribute to ICT systems and services planning, and collaborate on ICT business plans and policies.
- Provide strategic ICT advice, manage ICT support functions, coordinate software and hardware management, and ensure ICT resources align with curriculum needs.
- Manage the ICT network, ensure data integrity and security, and evaluate cloud-based solutions.
- Develop disaster recovery plans and maintain server and network infrastructure, ensuring the effective operation of the Local Area Network (LAN) and wireless infrastructure while maintaining security and access requirements.
- Leverage ICT solutions to streamline administrative processes, foster effective communication among leadership, and establish comprehensive ICT policies for schools.
- Deliver expert level second and third level technical advice on issues of some complexity including support, troubleshooting and consultancy services for a range of identified server, network and peripheral device problems, issues and service faults.
- Help to maintain a safe and healthy working environment by proactively reporting incidents, hazards and injuries.

- Team Management and Development: Significant experience in managing ICT professionals, fostering positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, clients, and service providers to build business confidence and achieve outcomes. Highly experienced in leveraging the HR functions to achieve goals, and implementing service improvements, developing resource plans and performance managing and mentoring staff in a large and complex ICT environment.
- Communication and Customer Service: Proven high-level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise, consult, and negotiate with diverse clients and develop clear documentation. Ability to deliver high-quality customer service by understanding client needs, developing strategic engagement plans, and advising on service delivery.
- Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work under broad direction, exercise judgement, initiative, and
significant delegated authority in identifying, analysing, and determining methods to resolve
complex issues and making decisions to meet organisational objectives. - Stakeholder Management: Significant experience engaging with various stakeholders with an
interest or influence in the technologies supporting school activities, initiatives or projects. - Project Management: Highly experienced in leading the planning, developing, and managing ICT
projects using contemporary methods and knowledge of strategic planning, procurement, risk, and
change management. - Knowledge of ICT Environments: Extensive expertise and experience with ICT technologies relevant
to education environments, such as; Windows Server and client operating systems, Enterprise
virtualisation and backup platforms, Enterprise networking technologies, Learner Management
Systems (LMS), Mobile device management (MDM) tools, as well as scripting and automation
platforms including PowerShell and the Microsoft Power platform. - Environment, Health & Safety: Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to promoting and
