ServiceNow Developer | ITOM | Integration Hub | REST/SOAP Integrations

• Location: Canberra ACT (Hybrid | Interstate candidates will be considered if willing to travel on a weekly basis)
• Security Clearance: NV1 Preferred (Baseline Mandatory)
• Contract Length: 12-Month Contract | Hybrid (3 Days Office / 2 Days WFH)

Our client is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to lead the design, build, integration, and optimisation of ServiceNow platform capabilities. This role sits inside a high-performing digital team delivering uplift across ITOM, Discovery, Service Mapping, workflow automation, and multi-system integrations. The position requires strong technical depth, independent delivery capability, and the ability to become a platform SME within the team.

Key responsibilities of the position:

• Design, develop, configure, and enhance ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and script includes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable ServiceNow and web platform solutions.

• Implement platform development best practices to uplift user experience, performance, and maintainability.

• Develop integrations using REST, SOAP, Web Services, APIs, and ServiceNow Integration Hub.

• Conduct Discovery activities (horizontal and top-down) and support Service Mapping initiatives.

• Build and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems using MID Servers and associated components.

• Perform platform upgrades, patches, and environment maintenance to ensure security and stability.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimise platform performance.

• Prepare and maintain high-quality technical documentation including design specifications, configuration details, and training materials.

• Support unit testing, system testing, and UAT cycles.

• Provide training and knowledge transfer to team members on ServiceNow development and integration practices.

• Monitor, optimise, and evolve platform components using updated ServiceNow capabilities and emerging web technologies.

What we are looking for:

• Proven hands-on experience in ServiceNow in Developer, Consultant, or Administrator positions.

• Advanced proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript, Glide API) and workflow configuration.

• Strong experience developing REST/SOAP integrations and working with Web Services, APIs, and ServiceNow Integration Hub.

• Experience with ITOM modules (Discovery, Service Mapping) and ideally exposure to HAM/SAM.

• Understanding of network, infrastructure, cloud, and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting MID Servers.

• Solid understanding of ITIL practices and Agile delivery methodologies.

• Strong communication skills, analytical capability, and stakeholder-facing confidence.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering.

Desirable skills & experience:

• Background in Discovery (horizontal and top-down) and Service Mapping.

• Broader knowledge of cloud environments, integration patterns, and enterprise system dependencies.

• Exposure to web optimisation practices and performance tuning within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
