Overview of the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ServiceNow Developer to join a dynamic team and contribute to the development and delivery of platform solutions for the 2025/2026 financial year workplan. This role involves providing platform support, solutions, and advice across configuration, development, and maintenance services for an Enterprise Service Management and workflow automation platform. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with work-from-home options available after six months.
Duties
The Senior ServiceNow Developer will be responsible for:
- Developing, configuring, and customising the ServiceNow platform to meet business requirements.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise business requirements.
- Assessing platform requirements from business areas and exploring ServiceNow out-of-the-box capabilities before progressing with custom builds.
- Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code (JavaScript) when required.
- Conducting code reviews and performing quality control checks to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Developing scoped applications, flows, scripts, and other UI elements for custom solutions and out-of-the-box enhancements.
- Providing guidance and expertise in platform growth and development in collaboration with the ServiceNow technical lead and development team.
- Conducting ServiceNow solution demonstrations and presentations for business teams and stakeholders.
- Debugging and fixing technical problems.
- Producing and running test cases to ensure software quality.
- Documenting code and application functionality, including drafting Functional Design Specification documentation.
- Staying updated on emerging trends and technologies in ServiceNow development.
- Conducting knowledge transfer on administration and development within the ServiceNow platform.
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in ServiceNow development.
- ServiceNow CSA (Certified Systems Administrator).
- Proficiency in ServiceNow development, including scripting, workflows, and integrations.
- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow out-of-the-box application configuration.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities, with the ability to develop innovative solutions and form sound judgments.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders both verbally and in writing, and the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- ServiceNow CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) or higher.
- Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall.
- Familiarity and/or training with IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM) processes.
- Familiarity, experience, and/or training with ServiceNow Procurement-related applications and/or development of Procurement workflows.
