Service Transition Lead

We are seeking an experienced Service Transition Lead to support the introduction of a new Air Traffic Control (ATC) system into operational service. This role is critical to ensuring all operational, technical, and organisational elements are fully prepared for a safe, compliant, and seamless transition to live operations.
Working closely with the Program Manager, you will lead transition activities across one of the program’s sub-streams, with a strong focus on operational readiness, stakeholder engagement, training, testing, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Readiness & Transition Planning

Develop and deliver a comprehensive Transition Plan aligned to program milestones and regulatory obligations

Define readiness criteria, success measures, and entry/exit gates for transition to operations
Stakeholder Engagement

Engage with air traffic controllers, technical teams, regulators, and operational leaders to capture requirements and validate readiness

Coordinate activities across engineering, training, safety, security, and operations functions
Training & Workforce Readiness

Oversee development and delivery of operational and technical training programs

Ensure workforce certification, competency, and readiness prior to system cutover
Operational Integration

Ensure procedures, manuals, and workflows are updated to reflect new system capabilities

Confirm integration with broader aviation systems, regulatory frameworks, and operational concepts
Testing & Validation

Support planning and execution of operational trials, simulations, shadow operations, and cutover rehearsals

Validate readiness through scenario testing and user acceptance activities
Risk, Safety & Compliance

Identify and manage operational risks associated with system transition

Ensure compliance with relevant safety, security, and regulatory frameworks (e.g. CASA, ICAO, Defence, Airservices standards)
Transition to Live Service

Lead day-one operational readiness and cutover activities

Support operational handover, acceptance, and early life support post go-live
Essential Requirements

Proven experience leading service transition or operational readiness for complex, safety-critical systems

Strong stakeholder engagement across operational, technical, and regulatory environments

Demonstrated experience in training, testing, validation, and go-live readiness

Australian Citizenship
-
Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government National Security Clearance
