Senior ZScaler Network Engineer

Location: Canberra, ACT.

Contract: 12 months x2 12month extensions

Clearance: NV1 or above.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support a high-profile Federal Government program. This role will focus on the design, deployment and management of Zscaler solutions (ZIA / ZPA), with flexibility to consider candidates with equivalent Secure Web Gateway (SWG), SASE or Zero Trust experience such as Palo Alto Prisma Access, Netskope, Cisco Umbrella, Cloudflare Zero Trust, Forcepoint ONE, Symantec Blue Coat or similar platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy and manage secure access and internet security solutions (Zscaler or equivalent).
Configure complex business applications into cloud security platforms.
Produce detailed technical designs and implementation plans.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex security and network issues.
Work collaboratively within a team and engage with stakeholders.

Essential Criteria

Minimum 5 years’ experience with Zscaler or equivalent SASE/SWG platforms (e.g. Palo Alto Prisma Access, Netskope, Cisco Umbrella, Cloudflare, Blue Coat).
Hands-on configuration experience with business applications in secure gateways or cloud security environments.
Ability to articulate technical detail through design and implementation documentation.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Effective team collaboration skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Criteria

Broad understanding of industry trends, government directions and emerging technologies.
Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills.
Knowledge of ASD Essential 8 and experience contributing to ICT system security accreditation.
Background in highly secured networks and cryptography solutions.
