Senior TM1 System Administrator

Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior TM1 System Administrator to join a major government ICT program. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and optimising IBM Cognos TM1 / Planning Analytics to support financial budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role ensures the integrity, performance, and reliability of financial data, working closely with finance and technology teams to deliver accurate and efficient business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain TM1 models, cubes, dimensions, rules, and security settings.

  • Lead the development and management of End-of-Financial-Year and Mid-Year budgets in TM1.

  • Execute and finalise End-of-Month and End-of-Year processes accurately and on schedule.

  • Manage data integration between TM1 and other enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Aurion).

  • Develop and enhance dashboards, templates, and reports using Planning Analytics Workspace.

  • Provide first-line support, troubleshooting TM1 user issues and ensuring timely resolution.

  • Maintain user access controls, cost centres, GLs, and reporting lines.

  • Monitor system performance, apply upgrades, and coordinate with IT for enhancements.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise TM1 utilisation and efficiency.

  • Collaborate effectively with finance, property, and technology stakeholders to deliver consistent and accurate financial insights.

Essential Criteria

  • 3-5 years’ hands-on experience in TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics administration and development.

  • Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting within TM1.

  • Strong understanding of TM1 architecture (cubes, dimensions, rules, feeders, TM1 Web).

  • Experience finalising End-of-Month and End-of-Financial-Year processes.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • IBM TM1 certification (e.g., IBM Certified Developer – Cognos TM1).

  • Experience with Capital and Property modules in TM1.

  • Understanding of TM1 integrations with SAP and Aurion.

Engagement Details

  • Type: DMP2 – ICT Labour Hire

  • Duration: 12 months with potential 12-month extension

  • Hours: 40 hours per week (full-time)

  • Location: Hybrid (NSW preferred)

  • Security Clearance: Baseline clearance is mandatory
