Job Title: Test Automation Lead
Rate: $600/day inc. super
Location: Sydney (Hybrid)
Duration: 9-12 month contract

You’ll be leading test activities across a backend-heavy system (minimal UI), working closely with BAs and developers to ensure clean coverage and tight feedback loops. This isn’t a framework-building role – you’ll be writing automation scripts using existing Cucumber feature files, backed by strong manual testing fundamentals.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading test planning, test case writing, and test scenario design

  • Writing Cucumber-based automation scripts using existing frameworks

  • Executing manual tests where needed

  • Testing APIs and message-based integrations (very little UI testing)

  • Collaborating with tech teams to triage defects and optimise coverage

What you bring:

  • Strong hands-on experience writing Cucumber feature files

  • Experience in financial services

  • Solid manual testing experience

  • Background in API/message-based systems

  • Experience designing and executing test cases in structured environments

  • Strong communicator who’s comfortable owning testing outcomes
