Senior Test Analyst – Federal Government Contract | NV1 Clearance Required

Location: Canberra, ACT
Work Type: Contract (12 months + possible extensions)
Security Clearance: Must hold a current NV1 security clearance
Rate: Competitive daily rate (negotiable based on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to join a high-performing team within a Federal Government department, supporting critical systems.

In this role, you’ll work closely with project teams and technical leads to plan and execute test strategies across a range of cloud-based and on-premise applications. You will help ensure that testing frameworks are robust, repeatable, and aligned with modern delivery practices, including CI/CD and DevOps approaches.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead testing activities across all development phases.
  • Provide expert guidance on testing methodologies and tools.
  • Design, maintain and execute test cases using tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Test both COTS and Bespoke solutions, including REST/SOAP web services and web applications.
  • Assess risks, identify improvements, and contribute to test policy development.
  • Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Essential Criteria:

  • ISTQB Foundation (or higher) certification.
  • At least 8 years’ experience in testing roles.
  • Strong background in both Commercial Off-The-Shelf and custom-built systems.
  • Hands-on experience with test planning, execution, and defect management tools – especially Azure DevOps.
  • Proven ability to deliver QA functions in a cost-effective and resource-efficient manner.
  • Experience testing REST APIs, SOAP services, and web-based applications.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Cloud-based applications, CI/CD pipelines, and on-premise environments.
