Senior Test Analyst – Mining Automation | Perth-Based
Our client, a leading mining company based in Perth, is seeking a Senior Test Analyst to join a cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary development team. About the Role:
As a Senior Test Analyst, you’ll be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities across technical and functional aspects of automation programs. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes across systems and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead testing and verification of technical and functional requirements for mining automation projects.
- Create and maintain test artefacts such as test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
- Collaborate with development and project teams to resolve defects and ensure traceability.
- Identify, diagnose, and document system faults and errors in line with defined testing protocols.
- Design and execute both manual and automated test cases for functional and regression testing.
- Evaluate test outcomes and provide analysis, defect tracking, and test closure reporting.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and tools.
- Occasionally travel to site to support on-ground testing and knowledge sharing activities.
What You’ll Bring:
- 7+ years’ experience in a Software Testing or QA role, preferably in technical environments.
- Strong background in client-side testing, microservice architectures, and hosted platforms.
- Hands-on experience with test and defect management tools.
- Test automation framework experience is highly regarded.
- Sound understanding of modern development methodologies and quality-focused team practices.
- Exposure to mining or safety-critical systems is desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and working with formats like XML and JSON.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
- ISTQB Foundation Level (CTFL) certification required.
- Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline is desirable.
