Talent is currently looking for a Sr Systems Administrator for a large state government department based in Brisbane CBD.

Contract details:

  • Brisbane CBD location (2 days WFH pw)
  • Up to $111.75/hour inc super
  • Contract until 30th of June with strong likelihood fo extensions

As the Senior Systems Administrator you will be a senior technical resource as part of a team responsible for coordinating and providing operational third tier IT infrastructure maintenance and support for the department.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback to clients and management regarding the status of problems and service requests to ensure that agreed service levels and client service standards are achieved.
  • Undertake change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning.
  • Analyse, advise, recommend and plan maintenance upgrades or enhancements requests for the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Research problems and resolve issues to ensure reliable and available services.
  • Provide third level support and maintenance of the Departmental IT infrastructure.
  • Understand client’s business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in the performance analysis of client’s infrastructure environments and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Undertake the development and maintenance of procedures and guidelines to ensure continuous improvement of ITS operations.
  • Participate in the development, design, implementation and evaluation of whole of Government IT related initiatives.
  • Provide and maintain timely, client focused network, problem and service management for IT services and facilities.
  • Provide mentoring and support to more junior engineers and support technicians in the appropriate use and support of technologies.

  • Nutanix Hyper-Converged infrastructure
  • Microsoft Azure cloud technologies
  • Microsoft Windows Server Environment (2022)
  • RDS (Microsoft Server 2019)
  • Federation Services and DirSync
  • Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM):
  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Access management and user account management (DHCP/DNS, Group Policy, AD, Entra-ID, AD Manager+, inTune)
  • Linux (RHEL 7/8)
  • Docker/Kubernetes
  • Experience working in an ITIL based operating environment and ServiceNow
