The Opportunity

We’re looking for a senior systems administrator to join our team at a pivotal time of growth and transformation. As part of a tight-knit, collaborative team, you’ll be responsible for supporting our corporate backend systems, leading technical delivery of new initiatives, and working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party partners.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Manage and improve corporate infrastructure in support of the key programmes of work, working closely with the existing senior systems administrator, the wider Digital Operations team and the manager Digital Operations.
  • Supporting the delivery of a programme of work with organisation-wide impact
  • Leading technical efforts across a hybrid cloud environment
  • Maintaining and enhancing the reliability and performance of critical systems, both legacy and new.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • A senior level of experience as a Systems Administrator, or Level 3 Systems Engineer, with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and environments
  • Broad expertise in infrastructure and cloud technologies, including Azure and AWS
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate both internally and externally

About Water Wellington

Wellington Water is the professional water services provider across Greater Wellington and South Wairarapa. Their job is to provide safe and healthy drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, and ensure the stormwater network is well managed. They’re a multi-council owned entity, tasked to manage the infrastructure and deliver water services to our communities.
