Our client is highly respected organisation, who provides services and supports to thousands of individuals around Australia. With multiple locations around Canberra, this vital Government organisation seeks only the most skilled and professional individuals to assist them in developing programs, policies, and initiatives that will improve the quality of life for Australia’s most vulnerable.

The Role

Our client is seeking a problem-solver whose thinking is based on mathematical fundamentals and utilising the available tools to solve business problems. The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience in delivering results with data and automation of analytical assets.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with stakeholders to understand and document requirements and address business needs though transforming raw data into reports and insights.
  • Development and delivery of high-quality reporting products in consultation with the Business areas to ensure products meet user stories & acceptance criteria.
  • Increase efficiency in the division by creating a ‘single source of truth’ for all reporting. These reports will comprise of rich and drillable visualisations while being accessible.
  • Develop reports according to:
    • Style guides, User Experience and Accessibility Standards of the broader team
    • Coding and Technical Standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Expert level SQL and/or SAS Skills with a minimum of 8 or more years in Business Intelligence/ Data arena
  • Experience in Python building analytical assets
  • Experience in working with raw data, drawing compelling and actionable insights via visualisations.
  • Experience in visualisation tools such as SAS Viya, Tableau, Qlikview or similar will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of CI/CD Practices, Project tracking software (Ex- JIRA) and version control (GIT, Bitbucket).
