Senior Solution Architect | TOGAF | ISM & Essential Eight | SaaS Integration | Global ICT Systems

• Contract: 12 months + 2 x 12-month extensions

We are on the lookout for a Senior Solution Architect who can design, govern, and deliver secure, scalable technology solutions that shape Australia’s global footprint. This is not just a surface-level architecture role. It’s a hands-on, strategic position where your decisions directly influence critical government operations. You will actively take part a high-performing architecture team, embedded within a mature governance model, engaging in Design Authority and Architecture Review Board forums to ensure every solution aligns with enterprise strategy and stringent security standards.

From integrating legacy systems with modern SaaS platforms to navigating hybrid cloud infrastructure and complex compliance frameworks, you will architect solutions that are robust, efficient, and future-ready. This opportunity will allow you to work closely with stakeholders across the business, translating complex needs into elegant designs that don’t just tick the boxes they elevate delivery. This role calls for a seasoned Architect with deep technical fluency, pragmatic decision-making, and a strong grasp of ISM, Essential Eight, and hybrid integration models. Key responsibilities of the position:

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture delivery, translating business needs into efficient, secure, and scalable technical designs.

• Develop conceptual, high-level, and detailed designs using approved frameworks, patterns, and templates.

• Define interfaces, data flows, and integration strategies for systems spanning on-prem, private cloud, SaaS, and hybrid environments.

• Produce technical documentation, solution overviews, architectural diagrams, and assessment reports aligned to governance forums (DA, ARB).

• Coordinate implementation of architectural solutions and provide technical assurance through review and consultation.

• Contribute to the uplift of architectural reference materials and promote reusable patterns that support ISM and Essential Eight alignment.

• Engage in architecture forums, lead peer reviews, and influence solution design decisions across the project lifecycle.

• Systems Design, Consultancy, Network/Hardware Design (L4-6)
• Emerging Tech Monitoring, Innovation (L5/6)
• Information Security, Assurance, Requirements Definition (L4-5)

What we are looking for:

• 5+ years in ICT, with 2+ years in solution architecture/system design roles.

• Experience working across secure government systems and complex, large-scale ICT environments.

• Strong background in architectural governance, assurance, and solution implementation.

• TOGAF or equivalent certification; additional technical certifications highly regarded.

Desirable Experience:

• Experience in global ICT environments, secure integration patterns, and hybrid infrastructure (on-prem, cloud, SaaS).

• Working knowledge of ISM and Essential Eight controls from a design perspective.

• Expertise in cloud services, integration design, and security by design architecture.
