The client
Our client is a statutory agency tasked with the significant responsibility of protecting Australia’s national interests from foreign threats. As well as collecting and analysing foreign intelligence, our client provides information security services to the Australian Government.

The role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect to join our team. In this senior role, you will operate with a high level of autonomy and serve as a subject matter expert, offering strategic and expert advice across ICT business management functions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making, tackle complex problems, and proactively manage risks. You will lead the design and delivery of high-impact, politically and operationally significant projects, while also contributing to long-term planning and strategy development.

Strong stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as you will be expected to build and maintain influential relationships, understand stakeholder needs, and effectively communicate solutions and best practices to achieve desired outcomes.

Skills and experience required

  • At least five years of experience as a Solution Architect or equivalent role.
  • Strong technical leadership experience.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Qualifications and demonstrated experience in relevant technical discipline/s.
  • Experience providing technical direction or architecture to projects delivering complex solutions.
  • Excellent understanding and demonstrated application of current architectural design patterns, standards, technologies and techniques including Architectural Frameworks such as TOGAF or similar models.
  • Knowledge and experience in cloud architecture best practices.
  • Desirable: Bachelor degree in a related field.
