Senior Server Engineer | Secure Infrastructure & Global Operations

• Location: Canberra, ACT (Onsite)
• Security Clearance: NV2 Cleared (Mandatory)
• Contract Length: 12 months + 2 × (12-month extensions – Based on the discretion of the Department)

About the position:

This role sits within a secure, globally distributed infrastructure environment supporting Australia’s international operations. The engagement focuses on sustaining and modernising enterprise server platforms across physical and virtual environments, where reliability, availability, and security are critical.

You will contribute to the refresh of ageing infrastructure across international posts and core platforms while maintaining operational continuity. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong ownership of server environments, structured delivery capability, and the ability to operate confidently within Defence-aligned ICT environments.

What you’ll do:

• Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise-grade Windows Server environments
• Design, build, and troubleshoot virtualised infrastructure using VMware and Nutanix
• Support infrastructure refresh initiatives across global and core environments
• Ensure performance, availability, and security standards are maintained within operational frameworks

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server 2019/2022 in enterprise environments
• Strong expertise across VMware and Nutanix virtualisation technologies
• Proven capability operating within secure or regulated ICT environments
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
