Senior Security Consultant

• 1 Month Contract – Government Department

Our Government client is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Consultant to lead the discovery and definition of core security capabilities across their environment.

This is a hands-on strategic and technical role responsible for designing the blueprint of long-term security capability – spanning SOC/SIEM, IDAM, threat modelling, and enterprise visibility across SaaS platforms.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead the discovery and definition of the cyber security strategy and capability uplift.
• Design a future-ready security operating model, including the standing up of core services (SOC/SIEM, IDAM, threat detection).
• Collaborate with third-party SaaS providers to establish visibility and logging across the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Define and drive implementation of a consistent, enterprise-wide IDAM process and technology stack.
• Evaluate and implement a Proof of Concept for IDAM tooling (e.g. Microsoft Entra, Okta, or Ping).
• Build the foundations for a SOC/SIEM capability, including event collection, detection rules, and response design.

Key Skills

• Strong experience developing and delivering enterprise-level cyber security programs.
• Deep understanding of SOC/SIEM architecture and implementation in Microsoft environments.
• Expertise in Identity and Access Management (IDAM) – process, architecture, and tool evaluation.
• Strong experience in Microsoft security stack (Entra, Defender, Sentinel, etc.).
• Experience integrating with or working alongside external SaaS providers.
