They work closely with other government agencies and service providers to develop policy to support government programmes, design and develop service delivery systems that make services accessible to all and provide payments and services that support all Australians to improve their circumstances and achieve greater self-sufficiency and quality of life.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SAS Developer to play a key role in delivering high-quality data solutions that support critical decision-making. Working within a large-scale, data-driven environment, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of complex data pipelines and reporting solutions, ensuring accuracy, performance, and compliance across all outputs.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining SAS-based data solutions
  • Writing and optimising SAS code for performance and efficiency
  • Translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions
  • Ensuring compliance with data governance, privacy, and security standards
  • Producing clear documentation for data processes and workflows
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Strong experience with SAS tools including Base, Macro, and SAS/SQL
  • Proven ability to work with large, complex datasets and perform advanced data manipulation
  • Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases
  • Experience in data analytics or reporting environments
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Experience within government or large-scale organisations (highly regarded)
