Senior Project Manager - GRC

Talent is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager across governance, risk and compliance (GRC) to join a Queensland Government-owned infrastructure corporation.

Location: Fortitude Valley, QLD, 4006

Contract: 12 months

Rate: Up to $1083/day inc super

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute projects to agreed budget, schedule and quality requirements and track and report on the project in accordance with the Project Management Framework.
  • Apply project and change management discipline, processes and tools to identify, design and implement a fit for purpose solution for the project
  • Rapidly identify and assess key stakeholders, gather technical, functional and business requirements and define objectives and benefits for each project
  • Develop a business case for each project that includes the high-level strategy, budget, timeline, technology stack and preferred vendor selection. Monitor and report on project delivery status including producing documentation as required.
  • Ensure the project conducts appropriate two-way engagement and provides transparent, honest and unambiguous communication to key stakeholder groups throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with other business functions and project teams to manage interdependencies and ensure the project delivers the right benefits for the business at the right time.
  • Applying a continuous improvement mindset to all facets of delivery and maintaining and improving methodology components and artefacts
  • Manage relationships with vendors and other third parties to ensure that project delivery is maintained in line with agreed tender agreements

Key Skills:

  • Strong Project Management experience and understanding of project delivery.
  • Experience across enterprise governance, risk and compliance (GRC) with regards to project delivery and compliance, and the ability to conduct GRC analysis.
  • Ability to work with and manage/influence stakeholders in a political environment.
  • Understanding of EPMO process and reporting structures.
  • Excellent understanding of the necessary planning and effort required to pilot and test, then seamlessly transition users and data between custom-built systems and commercial off-the-shelf systems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability; able to work in ambiguous situations with resilience, tenacity and a propensity to persevere.
  • Maintain and move rapidly and seamlessly between strategic vision and tactical level work plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both technical and non-technical terms.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree qualifications in Information Technology or equivalent
  • Experience running projects in asset intensive industries
  • 7+ years’ experience in IT project management
  • Project Management Qualification, PMP, Prince2 or similar
