Senior Project Manager – Finance Systems Transformation

The opportunity

We are partnering with a large, enterprise level Queensland born organisation seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead a significant finance systems transformation.

This is a strategic and delivery-focused role responsible for assessing the organisation’s current finance technology landscape across finance, fraud and claims management. You will help define the future-state vision, develop the go-to-market strategy and lead the selection, implementation and integration of a new finance solution into a broader core platform.

This is not a standard system upgrade. We need someone who has previously delivered a complex finance systems transformation from early discovery and strategic planning through to vendor selection, implementation and integration.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the finance systems transformation.
• Assess current systems, processes and capabilities across finance, fraud and claims management.
• Work with business and technology leaders to define the future-state environment.
• Develop the transformation roadmap and go-to-market strategy.
• Lead procurement, vendor evaluation and solution-selection activities.
• Oversee implementation and integration with the organisation’s new core platform.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies and project benefits.
• Lead a matrix team of Business Analysts, Architects, Change Management and Project Support resources.
• Manage delivery partners and external vendors.
• Provide strategic advice and clear reporting to the Program Manager and executive governance forums.
• Work directly with the CEO, CFO and senior stakeholders to maintain alignment and support key decisions.

About you

You are a strategically capable Senior Project Manager who can also take ownership of detailed delivery. You will be comfortable influencing at executive level while coordinating multidisciplinary teams through a complex transformation.

You will bring:

• At least eight years’ experience delivering complex projects in a project management capacity.
• Proven delivery of a major finance systems transformation.
• Experience across discovery, current-state assessment, future-state definition, market engagement, vendor selection, implementation and integration.
• A strong background in banking, insurance, financial services or another complex regulated environment.
• Experience implementing and integrating enterprise finance platforms.
• Strong commercial, vendor, governance and financial management capability.
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams within a matrix environment.
• The confidence and communication skills to present to CEOs, CFOs and senior governance groups.
• Working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and project management certifications will be highly regarded.
