Senior Project Manager
Duration: 12 months (initial and rolling) – permanent conversion potential 2-3+ years plus
Location: Melbourne (hybrid – 3 days in office CBD central, 2 from home)
Rate: Market Rate

We are partnering with a large, complex organisation delivering a major COTS implementation program into federal government within a field services environment.

This multi-stream, multi-phase program has been underway with partial go-live achieved to date. With significant investment already committed the program now requires a Senior PM to re-baseline, stabilise, and drive delivery through to completion, circa $5-30million, 25+ onshore resources both direct and vendor.

This is a critical project leadership role, requiring someone who can operate at both strategic and hands-on levels in a highly complex, integrated environment with outstanding GM, MD and CIO engagement. The ability to manage down and report up essential. The program is operating with an Agile approach, and you will be supported by a Senior SCRUM Master.

The Role

  • Take ownership of a large-scale FSM transformation program and re-baseline delivery and set up new stage gates
  • Lead a 4 plus stream program across SNOW, Integration, ERP, and Integration into Government
  • Drive end-to-end project delivery, ensuring alignment to timelines, scope, and budget
  • Establish and embed governance, reporting, and delivery discipline
  • Manage and lead a team of ~25 resources (internal and time and materials vendor)
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders including CIO, MD, and executive sponsors
  • Navigate a complex COTS integration landscape across 20+ legacy systems across initially one division, later rolling out across 3 other divisions
  • Identify and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across all streams
  • Ensure strong stakeholder communication and executive engagement

About You

  • Proven experience delivering $10M-$30M+ complex COTS implementation, integration, and transformation programs
  • Strong background in remediation and recovery of in-flight programs
  • Deep experience in field service management (FSM), asset management, or operational field environments covering large geographies
  • Experience integrating COTS platforms across complex legacy ecosystems – eg ServiceNow, Oracle Field Service Management (OFS), Dynamics with Boomi or Mulesoft, SAP integration.
  • Background in industries such as:
    • Defence/Fed Gov
    • Utilities/ Energy/ Mining
    • Telecommunications
    • Transport
  • Highly capable, polished, high energy and dynamic communicator with experience engaging executive stakeholders (MD/C-suite)
  • Comfortable operating hands-on and in detail, not just at a high level
  • Strong delivery focus with a “go-getter” mindset
  • Proof of Australian Citizenship required along with cleared national criminal history police check

This is a high-pressure project management opportunity with high level of visibility to the executive – successful delivery will result in on-going extensions over several years and opportunity for permanency if desired for the PM who delivers this essential program.
