Senior Project Manager
This large government body is embarking on a significant HRIS transformation that will modernise their people, payroll, and workforce management processes. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead this major initiative and ensure successful delivery within the unique context of a public-sector environment.
In this high-impact position, you will lead a multi-stream transformation program aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a complex HRIS implementation ensuring scope, timelines, quality, and budget requirements are met while navigating public-sector governance, legislative obligations, and multiple stakeholder groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of the HRIS transformation project across multiple workstreams.
- Develop robust project plans, integrated schedules, and risk and issue management frameworks.
- Navigate public-sector governance, procurement, and compliance requirements.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and influence decision-making across stakeholder groups.
- Partner with vendors and internal SMEs to drive design, configuration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Oversee business case development and ensure sound, fit-for-purpose project governance.
- Coordinate cross-program integration points and proactively manage dependencies.
- Provide clear communication, reporting, and project insights to executive stakeholders.
Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale HRIS or ERP programs, ideally in government or regulated environments.
- Proven ability to work across multiple methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid).
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate business needs into delivery outcomes.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience leading procurement processes and managing vendor partnerships.
- Ability to coordinate cross-program integration across data, technology, people, and process streams.
