Our client is a Federal Government Department responsible for advancing Australia’s international interests through diplomacy, international security and strategic partnerships.

This opportunity sits within a high-profile branch responsible for Australia’s international cyber affairs and critical technology agenda. The team works closely with Australian Government agencies, international partners, industry, academia and foreign governments to strengthen cyber resilience and critical technology cooperation.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced APS6 Senior Program Officer to support the delivery of the Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership (AICCTP).

Working within a strategic policy and program environment, you will manage government-funded programs and grants, coordinate international engagement activities, prepare high-quality ministerial and executive briefing material, and work closely with senior stakeholders across government and internationally. This role offers exposure to Australia’s international cyber and critical technology priorities while supporting the delivery of major bilateral initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Australia-India Cyber and Critical Technology Partnership grants program.
  • Deliver end-to-end grant administration, governance and reporting.
  • Coordinate policy dialogues, high-level visits and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare ministerial briefs, talking points, Senate Estimates material and executive correspondence.
  • Maintain grant governance documentation including assessment plans and probity documentation.
  • Build productive relationships with Australian Government agencies, industry, academia, international partners and overseas stakeholders.
  • Support program budgeting, contract management and implementation activities.
  • Contribute to strategic communications and stakeholder engagement activities.

Skills and Experience

We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:

  • Strong program or project management experience.
  • Experience delivering government-funded programs or grants.
  • Excellent government writing skills, including briefs and executive correspondence.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work with limited supervision.
  • Experience with SmartyGrants or similar grant management systems is highly regarded.
  • Understanding of Australian Government processes or international policy environments will be well regarded.

Eligibility

  • Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance is required.
  • Ability to work primarily from the ACT office, with flexible work arrangements available by agreement.
