The department operates within a highly regulated environment and works closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve secure, compliant and value-for-money procurement outcomes.
About the Role
The Complex Procurement Officer will provide high-level procurement and contract management support within a security-focused business area. The role is responsible for delivering end-to-end procurement activities, providing specialist procurement advice, managing contracts and supporting stakeholders to achieve compliant procurement outcomes under the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-to-end complex procurement activities.
- Prepare procurement plans, tender documentation and evaluation reports.
- Manage procurement activities through AusTender.
- Provide procurement and contract management advice to stakeholders.
- Manage supplier relationships, contract variations and disputes.
- Monitor contract performance, extensions and renewals.
- Undertake procurement reporting and risk assessments.
- Maintain procurement records and support business improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum five years’ experience delivering complex government procurement activities.
- Strong knowledge of the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
- Demonstrated contract management experience using Commonwealth Contracting Suite (CCS).
- Experience managing procurement processes through AusTender.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and advisory skills.
- Experience undertaking market analysis and procurement planning.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Procurement and/or Contract Management.
- Government procurement qualifications highly regarded.
Eligibility / Other Requirements
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory.
- Current NV1 (Negative Vetting Level 1) security clearance required.
