Senior Payroll Officer – Contract

Location: Sydney CBD | Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day WFH)

Rate: ~$60 per hour + super

Contract: 6 months initial potential extension

Talent International is partnering with a high-profile organisation to recruit 2 x Senior Payroll Officers on contract. These roles sit within an established payroll function supporting a large workforce during a planned period of operational activity.

This opportunity is suited to experienced payroll professionals who enjoy working in structured, high-volume environments and contributing to consistent payroll delivery during organisational change.

The Role

As a Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll support end-to-end payroll processing within a 10-person team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You’ll assist with complex payroll matters while helping maintain continuity during a busy operational period.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working within established payroll systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and review end-to-end payroll across fortnightly and monthly cycles
• Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance prior to finalisation
• Support payroll queries and escalations
• Assist with payroll processing related to organisational change
• Complete payroll reporting and documentation
• Maintain compliance with Fair Work and payroll legislation
• Contribute to ongoing payroll improvements

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong SAP payroll processing experience – essential
• Experience working within a large enterprise environment
• Solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability

Desirable: exposure to redundancy payroll processing.
