Senior Investigations Officer
The Role
A State Government department is seeking a Senior Investigations Officer to conduct complex, people-centred, and trauma-informed workplace investigations into employee misconduct. You’ll manage end-to-end investigations, including planning, interviews, evidence collection, analysis, and the preparation of clear, authoritative reports.
The position offers flexibility with hybrid working arrangements (two days onsite) and is open to both full-time and part-time (minimum three days per week) candidates. This is a contract role until February 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct complex and sensitive workplace investigations from initiation to final report.
- Apply trauma-informed and victim-centred approaches throughout investigative processes.
- Gather and analyse evidence, conduct interviews, and prepare comprehensive documentation.
- Develop investigation plans, recommendations and findings aligned with procedural fairness principles.
- Provide expert advice and support to internal stakeholders on workplace conduct and investigation matters.
About You
- Experience conducting complex, victim-centric and sensitive workplace investigations.
- Strong understanding of workplace misconduct procedures, policy and employment frameworks.
- Tertiary qualification in Law, HR, or Workplace Relations (highly regarded).
- Excellent written communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing reports and recommendations.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work with discretion in high-trust, confidential environments.
