Senior Infrastructure Engineer - OpenShift

This role offers the opportunity to shape and optimise a private cloud platform, ensuring performance, scalability, and resilience in a complex enterprise environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Designing and expanding private cloud infrastructure using OpenStack and Ceph
  • Managing end-to-end hardware lifecycle, including procurement and deployment
  • Implementing and optimising software-defined networking for cloud platforms
  • Providing expert technical advice on performance, capacity planning, and resilience
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and ensuring platform stability
  • Supporting disaster recovery planning and high-availability environments
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to continuously improve infrastructure capability

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenStack (compute, networking, identity, and dashboard components)
  • Deep expertise in Ceph storage architecture, optimisation, and troubleshooting
  • Solid Linux system administration skills (enterprise distributions such as RHEL)
  • Proven experience designing and managing cloud networking (VLANs, SDN, load balancing)
  • Experience with physical infrastructure design, including servers and data centre environments
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a subject matter expert in complex environments
  • Exposure to automation and infrastructure-as-code practices (desirable)
