Senior Endpoint Management Engineer
Talent is searching for an experienced Senior Endpoint Management Engineer to join our client, a well-regarded financial institution headquartered in Brisbane. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a critical endpoint vulnerability and patching uplift, working hands-on across Intune, Windows Autopatch, Patch My PC and SCCM to strengthen the bank’s cyber resilience.
- Senior Endpoint Management Engineer
- Large Financial Institution – Brisbane CBD
- 6-month initial contract
About the Role:
As a Senior Endpoint Management Engineer, you will provide specialist capability across endpoint vulnerability management, patching and automation within a regulated financial services environment. This is a hands-on senior engineering role rather than a Desktop Support position – you’ll come into an established enterprise environment, understand the current vulnerability and patching landscape, identify gaps preventing effective remediation, and implement practical improvements.
You’ll work closely with Desktop, Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams, both remediating current vulnerabilities and improving the underlying capability so vulnerability and patch management can be performed more efficiently and sustainably.
Responsibilities / Key Deliverables:
- Analyse the current endpoint vulnerability landscape and work with Cyber Security to prioritise remediation based on risk
- Drive down endpoint vulnerabilities through effective OS, application, driver, firmware and BIOS patching
- Review, optimise and expand automated patching capabilities using Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopatch, Patch My PC and SCCM/MECM
- Identify and resolve configuration, deployment or technical issues preventing devices and applications from being patched successfully
- Develop PowerShell scripts, Intune remediation scripts and other automation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency and speed of remediation
- Improve third-party application patching and identify opportunities to consolidate or automate legacy/manual processes
- Implement and maintain Microsoft security baselines and endpoint configurations aligned with the ACSC Essential Eight
- Use vulnerability reporting and endpoint security data to identify remediation priorities and measure improvements
- Improve patching processes, documentation and reporting to support an effective ongoing vulnerability management capability
- Provide technical leadership, knowledge transfer and recommendations on ongoing capability and resourcing
Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience improving endpoint vulnerability and patching outcomes in a large enterprise environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune / Microsoft Endpoint Management
- Experience with Windows Autopatch and Patch My PC
- Experience with Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM)
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience, including Intune remediation scripting
- Experience with Windows OS servicing and patch management
- Third-party application packaging and patching experience
- BIOS, firmware and driver management experience
- Strong understanding of Microsoft security baselines and endpoint compliance
- Enterprise vulnerability management and remediation experience (Qualys experience beneficial but not essential)
- Highly regarded: experience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated environment
- Highly regarded: Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102) or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working across Desktop, Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams to drive problems through to resolution
- Ability to prioritise own workload and work independently to meet deadlines
Why Apply?
- Play a key role in a material endpoint vulnerability and patching uplift within a leading financial institution
- Work across modern endpoint management technologies including Intune, Windows Autopatch, Patch My PC and SCCM
- Gain exposure to a large enterprise environment (~1,350 endpoints across corporate, VDI and branch)
- Collaborate with experienced Desktop, Infrastructure and Cyber Security teams
- Opportunity to shape the ongoing capability and resourcing model beyond the initial engagement
