Senior DevOps Engineer | CI/CD, Observability & Secure Platform Engineering

• Location: ACT (Onsite)
• Security Clearance: NV1 (Mandatory)
• Contract Length: 18 months + 2 × 12-month extensions (Department discretion)

About the position:

This role sits inside a highly secure and protected environment where DevOps is not theoretical, it directly supports operational capability.

The focus is on strengthening automation, observability, and integration maturity across platform services. You will work closely with development teams to ensure environments are reliable, scalable, and deployment-ready driving improvements in release frequency, service stability, and developer productivity.

This is an EL1-equivalent position where hands-on capability is expected. The distinction here is ownership leading integration uplift, mitigating release engineering risks, and ensuring environments meet availability and recovery standards in a high-assurance setting.

What you’ll do:

• Drive observability uplift across monitoring and alerting capabilities within platform services
• Develop, optimise, and support CI/CD pipelines to improve release reliability and frequency
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and database deployment through pipelines
• Identify and mitigate release engineering risks while improving DevOps workflow maturity.

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines in secure or enterprise environments
• Strong background in automation, scripting, and infrastructure provisioning
• Experience applying DevOps methodologies to improve availability, reliability, and operational outcomes
• Capability to advise on methods, tools, integration standards, and development governance (SFIA Level 4-5 equivalent)
