Senior DevOps Engineer // Azure & Terraform

Our client is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platforms in Microsoft Azure. You will play a key role in enabling secure, reliable, and automated delivery of applications, working closely with engineering, security, and platform teams.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys ownership, automation, and improving developer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable deployments

  • Automate operational tasks and tooling using Python

  • Implement and maintain cloud security, networking, and identity best practices (RBAC, Key Vault, networking, policies)

  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability; drive continuous improvements

  • Collaborate with development teams to support application lifecycle and release processes

  • Lead troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis for production issues

  • Contribute to DevOps standards, patterns, and best practices across the organisation

  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance where required

Requirements

  • 8+ years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (compute, networking, storage, identity)

  • Proven experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code in production environments

  • Solid Python scripting experience for automation and tooling or similiar

  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab)

  • Experience across at least one compute service (Functions, Web Apps, or AKS)

  • Strong understanding of cloud security and governance principles

  • Experience with Linux-based systems and containerised workloads

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
