Senior Data Engineer

We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineer for an initial 6 month contract based in South Bank, with a strong possibility of extension.
This role focuses on analysing operational data, identifying disruptions and trends, and building scalable data pipelines that deliver meaningful business insights. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the business while taking ownership of your solutions and deliverables.

You’ll play a key role in supporting a major operational initiative, helping to transform complex data into actionable insights that improve performance and decision-making.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines
- Analyse operational data to identify disruptions, trends and opportunities
- Partner with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions
- Improve data quality, reliability and performance
- Work autonomously and take ownership of outcomes
Essential Technical Skills
MUST HAVE
- Strong AWS experience (AWS is essential – not Azure)
- Commercial experience with Databricks
- Proven experience building and optimising data pipelines
- Advanced SQL and data transformation skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Unit testing experience within data engineering environments
- Experience working with operational, logistics, transport or aviation-related data
