Senior Data Engineer
Talent International, a leading Australian recruitment firm, have been engaged by our long standing client, a well-established professional services organisation undergoing significant growth and data modernisation.
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to play a key role in transforming and modernising their enterprise data capability.
Role Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location + WFH Flexibility: Parramatta – Fully Onsite
Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 + Super
Project: Modernising enterprise data processing capability and building scalable ELT data warehouse solutions
Client Industry: Professional Services (Financial Services focused)
Role Details:
- Lead the design and build of enterprise-grade ELT pipelines using DBT, Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
- Develop and optimise scalable data warehouse solutions, focusing on transformation and data quality
- Implement and maintain CI/CD workflows within transaction-heavy enterprise environments
- Deliver end-to-end backend reporting solutions from source systems through to data warehouse
- Support ongoing data warehouse build, ensuring strong governance, documentation and operational stability
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering within enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in DBT, Azure Databricks and CI/CD workflows (non-negotiable)
- Experience working with large-scale, transaction-heavy systems
- Advanced SQL and Python capability
- Experience within the finance sector or mid-sized organisations highly regarded
What Success Looks Like (First 3-6 Months):
- Continued build and optimisation of the data warehouse ELT framework
- Focused transformation layer development with strong data quality controls
- Delivery of all current backend reporting requirements end-to-end
- Power BI reporting capability (nice to have)
